If you like a little heat in your meals then there is nothing better than a homemade chilli. Serve with tortilla wraps and Salsa or some long grain or basmati rice.
- 350g Steak Mince
- 2 Onion
- 2 Garlic Cloves
- Green Chilli Pepper
- Chopped tomatoes (tinned)
- Kidney beans (tinned)
- Beef stock (stock cubes – 600ml water)
- Chilli power
- Cayenne chilli powder (optional)
- Salt & Pepper
- Vegetable oil
Putting it together
Finely chop 1 onion and smash/chop/crush the garlic. In a hot pan add some oil and once oil is hot, add the chopped onion and garlic. Sweat off for a minute. Add the Steak Mince and brown. Add cumin to the browning mince for a deeper flavour to your Chilli. You can also add some of the Chilli and Cayenne powder.
While mince is browning, slice the 2nd onion and the Chilli Pepper (removing seeds optional). Add these to the pan once the mince has browned. Add the chopped tomatoes and kidney bean along with a little more cumin and chilli/cayenne powder (to taste) and stir. Season with salt and pepper and add the stock and Stir. Bring to the boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 30-40 minutes to reduce down until at desired consistence.
